Disclaimer
Considering how it's going right now in this industry,
i don't think i'll be able to stick around much longer.
Want to hire a software engineer that thinks with their own brain?
I'm right here.
I'd rather be unemployed than stuck working on something i don't believe in.
Think the torment nexus is an eventuality?
Just following orders?
How about we do something about it instead of cashing it out while we can.
Nope, this isn't just about large language models, it's about a wider ideological perspective.
Still here after reading that li'l monologue?
Welcome.
About me
I've been touching computers for around seven[7] years.
Alternatively: I have four[4] years of industry experience in Full Stack Development.
What that mostly entails:
Vue.js, Node.js, React, semantic HTML, raw CSS, and vanilla JS;
databases both relational and noSQL;
systems administration in GNU/Linux environments;
plus some Python and PHP [being extremely modest here].
And the best part?
I'm always up for learning more.
If that sounds too much like framework soup, that's alright. I'm a fast learner.
Whatever I build is accessible out of the box, and not just because it's something I happen to do as a developer, but because of what I am as a user, too.
Genuinely care about accessibility and want me to help? Perfect.
Just need to comply with regulations? I'd gladly help with that too.
Yes, I am a university dropout. I had to figure out how to learn to exist outside the conventional
educational systems and have developed some helpful skills as a side effect.
That should be music to the ears of the kind of employer I'd mostly be looking for, right?
If there's something interesting i don't know yet, i'll teach myself to do it.
Projects
Here are some things I've done professionally for my former employer, Puheet:
- A more accessible and user-friendly alternative to an advanced mail template editor, using Vue.js
- Dead-simple cookie consent modal using React, storing user consent details via Elasticsearch
- Statistics user interface with which to view Quicksight analyses directly, using Vue.js and Node.js
- Integration of an external housing database onto an existing Node.js authentication backend
- Several quality-of-life improvements, additions, and modifications onto an existing platform:
- accessibility improvements on an automation user interface with which to query Elasticsearch data
- extension of a Python task queue application with MariaDB database trigger for user creation
- migration of an internal logging system from local, poorly-rotated log files onto Elasticsearch
- GNU/Linux update processes such as moving Ubuntu 18.04 servers onto 20.04 and later 22.04

Details
Fully remote / Home-Office highly preferable.
Open to relation for hybrid work:
Rhein-Ruhr, Hannover/Braunschweig, Berlin, Bremen, Hamburg umgebung.
Other suggestions welcome; keep in mind that Sachsen, Anhalt, and Thüringen are likely unsafe for me.
My life is inherently political, whether i like it or not.
Since it bears repeating:
I am explicitly against generative "AI",
due to environmental, social, psychological, and ethical concerns [list nonexhaustive].
Yes, this means large language models and diffusion and whatever else they call them these days.
The effects on cultural works and Free Software have made me want to leave the industry altogether.
Would gladly discuss this in more detail too.
I will not accept it as being the new normal. I will actively fight back.
Think i'm being hyperbolic here? Grow a fucking backbone.
